Gwion with his cousin Charlie, February '05
Gwion turned two on the 1st Feb, and his Taid (Rhodri’s dad) came up for Gwion’s birthday.
Melanie, (my brother Morgan’s wife) had a little girl, Hollie, on the 2nd, nicely avoiding Gwion’s birthday! So they’ve now got 2 little girls! Then a week later, both my sisters announced they are pregnant. Olwen is having her 2nd in mid September, and Georgina is having her 2nd (though she lost her 1st last year) at the beginning of October! So by the end of this year my parents will have had 4 new grandchildren, to add to the 3 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren they already have! It’s going to be very expensive!
This month we also had a Chinese student to come and stay with us for the weekend. Chloe is from Shanghai and studying in London for a year. The weather wasn’t brilliant, so she didn’t see North Wales at its best, but we think she enjoyed her weekend with us. We had our first student, Jing, to stay in November. We joined a scheme called HOST, where families volunteer to host foreign students for a weekend, as the students often miss their own families and this way they get a bit of family life and see a different part of the UK. So we’ve opted to have Chinese students, so hopefully we can learn a bit more about their culture.

Have got the few remainders of my quilt squares now, and have asked family members if they will send me squares and wishes. Have started putting them all in an album, well two A4 ringbinders! I’ve stuck the square on one side and them the wish and stamps and names on the other side. I hope that when all the referrals come through I will be able to include the details of everyone’s referral as well! Am missing getting lots through the post now!
