We had a CACH mother and tots meeting again. This time it was near Bury, so it was quite a distance for us to travel to, but well worth it. Gwion is getting along so well with quite a few of the girls. He’s always quite shy when he first goes into the house, but then he does start to “thaw” out and mix with the girls. It is also good for me to chat to the other mums, and start getting excited about being the next group to be getting referrals!

We’ve also had another Chinese student stay with us for a weekend. His name is Song and is from the Sichuan Province, but lives in Beijing. He’s only a couple of years younger than us, and Rhodri got on very well with him. I think it made a change for Rhodri that we had a male student and one that was close in age to us. They shared a few interests. Gwion got on well with Song. Gwion has this ability to charm everyone! Song is hoping to be back in Beijing when we are out there for our adoption, and to meet up with us and introduce us to his wife.

Referrals started coming in to the United States the last couple of days of July. We got an email from BLAS on July 29th saying that we have been matched up with a lovely child and that our referrals were sent to London the day before. There are a few other UK people using BLAS that are due referrals in this batch, and they got emailed exactly the same email. I emailed BLAS back to see if I can have any more details, but will have to wait til the weekend is over!

Just wondering how long it will take for us to get our referrals. The June referrals took nearly 3 weeks to arrive after being sent! Someone said on the UK China adoption board that the Stork was walking from China instead of flying!

Very excited and all on tender hooks. Will soon be able to start spending money and organizing our travel!
