Papers sent to DFES – hurrah! Another hurdle over with. Our friend in South Wales’ papers had gone two weeks earlier. Now it was waiting for DFES to issue the Certificate of Eligibility, and send our dossier to our notary. All papers in England go directly to the DFES, who do the same checks on them as WAG did on ours, before issuing the certificate of Eligibility. By going to WAG first, it is meant to save time at the DFES, but we were being told the same time scale as everyone else, it would take 12-14 weeks before our papers would be sent to China! After Christmas and New Year – not what we were planning!
