MAY 22nd, 2006

It's time for the famous "Red Couch" photo that we've heard so much about. Sophia is dressed in her best Chinese glamour suit, and she is ready to ham it up. Here, Mom helps Sophia show her stuff before the big debut.

I'm Ready Mom!

These are all the newly adopted girls from the orphanage in Jiangxi Province, and many of them are former roommates. But not all are pleased about this photo reunion! It was literally impossible to get all of them happy within the same snapshot.

Hurry Up and Shoot!

Here is a close-up of Sophia trying to comfort her couch mate (of course, you did not see where Sophia had taken her shoe and made her cry).

Please Don't Cry

Here is Sophia solo on the couch. Beautiful!

Think I Prefer the Solo Thing!

She really likes the photo routine now!

After the red couch affair, we took a short break, did more shopping, bought a much bigger suitcase because of the shopping, had a pizza, and then it was time for the river boat ride. We took a bus across town again, and got aboard one of the many boats on the Pearl River.

Here the three of us are relaxing and enjoying the sights along the 2-hour cruise.

Mommy, Daddy....This is FUN!

These are just two of the many photos we took on our boat ride up and back down the Pearl River.

Well, tomorrow we are finally done with the entire adoption process. We take a bus at 2:30 PM on May 23rd to go to the United States Consulate to take an oath and get Sophia's US visa. That is the final document we need to bring her home! We fly back the next day, May 24th, through San Francisco and then to Colorado Springs. It will certainly be nice to get back home!
