Prudence "Prue" Halliwell was the oldest of the Charmed Ones. She took her job of vanquishing demons very seriously. The character of Prue took on many challenges and came out on top with most of them. After their grandmother's death, Prue worked hard to keep her family together. However, the sisters did go their own way; but destiny brought them back together to form the most powerful trio ever born, The Power of Three, The Charmed Ones.

In her final episode, she and her sisters were protecting an innocent from Shax, the Source's assassin. He entered the manor and threw both Prue and Piper through a wall. However, Phoebe was there, said the spell and got rid of Shax for the moment. She was then ablet to call Leo to heal both Prue and Piper.
They knew that Shax was not completely gone, so Prue and Piper went out to find him before he got too far. Phoebe was working on bringing Cole back from the dark side; therefore, she had her own business to attend to. Prue and Piper spotted Shax between two houses in their neighborhood and went in for the kill. They recited the spell and got rid of Shax completely; however, they were spotted by a reporter who was out doing a story in their neighborhood. Within minutes it was all over the television and the Charmed Ones and magic was exposed. Within an hour, the media had swarmed on their front yard. Meanwhile, Phoebe had found a way to save Cole and needed to go to the Underworld to help him.
After learning the situation, the Elders decided that the only way to fix this problem was by contacting Tempus, the demon who could control time. The only problem was he might not agree to help; however, the Charmed Ones being exposed not only exposed good magic, but evil magic as well. The entire magic community would benefit from time being reset. Phoebe and Leo made it to Cole and hit him with a potion that took the evil spell off of him. She then asked him if it was possible for him to contact Tempus. After some deliberation, the Source agreed to contact Tempus and get him to reset time only if Phoebe stayed in the Underworld. She had to agree to these terms because it was the only way to save one of her sister.
Back up top, Prue and Piper were trying their hardest to fend off the people on their yard. One obessed on-looker broke into the house claiming that she wanted to join their coven. Prue threw her out of the house (with her power) and shut the door. However, the lady came back, with a sniper riffle and shot Piper in the back. With Leo in the Underworld unable to hear her calls, Prue had to get Piper to the hospital. As she put Piper in the car, the media swarmed around her. Her only choice was to move everyone out of the way; with her power. She got Piper to the hospital but it was too little, too late. She had loss too much blood and died on the operating table.
Leo came back up top after learning from the Source that one of the sisters had been killed. After seeing Piper dead, he had to go back down and explain to Phoebe. Phoebe agreed to the Source's deal; but she insisted that Prue and Piper be warned about Shax coming before hand. Time then resetted.
The day started over again with Prue and Piper rushing in with their innocent. When Shax came through the door and threw Prue and Piper, Phoebe was not there to say the spell. Shax killed their innocent, and the season ended as it always does; the doors of the manor closing. However, Shax whirled out and shut the doors with such force, the glass panes exploded.

At the beginning of season four, we see Piper trying in vain to bring Prue back to life. Apparently, Leo made it back up top after Shax attacked. He healed Piper first, but was too late to heal Prue and she died. The Power of Three was almost lost; however, a spell Piper cast to call a sister ended up calling Paige, who then came to complete the Power of Three, and the rest is history. Several references have been made to Prue since her death, but the Power of Three and the Charmed Ones continue on. She will never be forgotten.
