The Witch Trials Witches don't believe in the
devil, or Satan, or any form of evil. It is a Christian concept. In fact the
word devil is a word coming to us from the Romany people. These people
began to roam Europe during the middle ages and are still roaming the
world today. Here is where we find the first reference of the word devil
which is actually Devel, the Romany word for God. These people were held
in question during these times because they held no ties with the lands
nor communities. During this time anyone who roamed the land not working
for the king or the church were seen as outlaws because they would not
settle down into serfdom and pay their taxes or tithe. The word Satan
actually means adversary in a translation from the Hebrew. Now Christians
call witchcraft evil because they could not control it. Anyone blessed
with gifts not seen as ordained by God or different were called a Witch.
Now to the trials.
Most of the victims, as you see on the
links I have found, were not witches at all. It started with adults and
children pointing at someone they did not like in the town and saying one
word would ruin that person life -forever - W.I.T.C.H Most cases I found,
their life was lost or they were tortured to the point of crippling
because someone from the church called them a witch and they were not even
one!

and outrageous! I want the world to know that and to remember those who
fell before us where not witches but sentence to die as witch, most were
the fore-fathers, and mothers, of the popular Christian Churches of
today.
