Tournament Results: 1-3 Drop
Here is my tourny report. I decided to go with scepter chant as you all know.
Round 1: Tony Cruz playing goblins
Not a great matchup for me. This guy was not very nice. He was arrogant almost to the point of extreme.
Game 1. He starts the beatdown that even a 4 turn attacking exalted angel couldn't stop. i go down easily Game 2: I side out Powder Keg and bring in Sphere of Law. I mulligain to 5. He hits me with a couple of theropies, but i didn't have any combo pieces. I cast a turn 4 sphere and he is stalled out till he gets a goon out. I get a Scepter lock going and he plays out till i lay a meddling mage naming overload. i will Game 3: He plays a turn 2 pyrostatic pilliar. I cunning wish for a disenchant but not before going to 10 life. I get an enlightened tutor to fetch up the sphere and use kor haven to prevent goon damage. I fact or fiction and hit my 2 exalted angels and i give him the beat down. 2-1
Round 2 U/W CONTROL This got like 4th place. It was basically the old t2 deck w/ angels, dragons, mass removal. and card drawing like Fact or fiction, and cunning wish too. His guy dressed up in leather and called he his bitch as he took it to me both games. He had more drawing and counters than me and he just dominated. 0-2, 1-1
Round 3 Nathan Zimmerman U/W Desires (another t8'er) Game 1: He goes off turn 3 and there was nothing i could do. Even though i had a mage naming snap in play Game 2: I have a turn 1 mage naming snap, and a turn 3 active scepter. he tries to e truth it but it gets countered and i give him a mage beatdown. Game 3: Turn 2 mage naming snap again. he wishes for meditate and casts it. I forget to make him skip his next turn (brainfart). About turn 8 he decides to go off and desires for 8. i know he is holding a brainfreeze cause he wished for it. I cunning wish for a stifle and His only chance is to hit a desire or his one maindeck brainfreeze. he gets the desire and proceeds to deck me 1-2, 1-2
Round 4: Spuirrel Opposition
Games 1 and 2: he gets out a bunch of squirrels and elves and birds and finishes me off with a masticore. gaea's cradle owns me. 0-2, 1-3
I liked my deck but i didn't have enough practice with it. O well maybe next time. later guys
