"You are so stubborn." I said to Steph while we were sitting on our towels on the sand. The guys were in the water but Joce said we needed to talk.
"I am not." Steph defended myself.
"Yes you are!" I exclaimed. Then I lowered my voice. "You broke up with him!"
"So?" Steph asked. She already knew that, and how did it make her stubborn?
"He hardly said one word in the car! Steph! He loves you!"
"I don't care." She said.
"You want to be 'just friends'. Steph, how could you say that? It must have broke his heart."
"Look, I really care about him," She started. She was going to have to tell me, she had to tell someone. "But he would have broken up with me sooner or later."
"Why do you think that?" I asked. It was getting dark outside. Around 11 or so. The guys were coming out of the water.
Before I had a chance to answer Nick came up to Steph and said, "Come on, lets go for a swim just you and I.
And, before she could deny it he was already holding her hand, pulling her towards the water.
I watched in amazement. I turned to Lekan. "What's going on?"
Lekan smirked. "Nick has a plan."
"Oh? Whats he going to do?"
"Well, in the winter, him and Steph were at his apartment." He took a deep breath. "At first when Nick told me this, I thought he was joking, but I don't think so. Not with how upset he was this morning. You should have seen him! He was almost crying!"
"Get on with it Lekan." I sighed. What was this plan? And what did last winter have to do with it?
"Okay." He continued. "So anyway, the furnace was broken. So Nick and Steph curled up in his bed together. And in the end the sort of..." He trailed off.
"THEY HAD SEX?" I screeched. Steph, my best friend fucked her boyfriend and didn't tell me????
"Yeah."
"Wow." I thought for a second. "So whats this got to do with the plan?"
"Well, Steph said that she loved the experience. So Nick figures if they get all close and flirty tongiht, they'll end up doing it and then Steph will realize how much she loves him and they'll get back together.
