As I said in the introduction reycling waste using worms can be achieved by the most scientific ways to the most simpilest of ideas. At Worm Workz we can start you off into worm farming with one of our complete starter kits which include:
Worm Workz can set you up with all this for $65.00 AUS. At the moment I can only service the NSW Central Coast but as things move along I will be able to move further abroad. But if your are not that commited to idea of worms at the moment then that is ok , you can make your own worm bin from old timber boxes , foam boxes(brocolli boxes) or even an old bucket.
Firstly soak your peat moss overnight in water and then drain of any excess water that is still in it.Worms like their bedding moist but not soaking wet,a good way to check if it is right is to grab a handfull of bedding and squeeze it, if about two drops of water comes from it then it is great , if there's more than dont add any more water until it is right and if less then add more until it is correct. Once you have the bedding right you can now add it into your worm bin and evenly distribute it around so that it is even and then introduce your worms into it.When you tip your worms in they will more or likely be tangled up into a ball shape(dont worry this is natural)just gently pull them apart and in a few minutes they will have burrowed down into the bedding.
