After a break, the tension began to mount again and the crowd started to chant "Tairrie!! Tairrie!!" (my bro claims to have started that one!) And then they were there - and we totally lost it, the mosh pit went crazy to "Preacher" and I went mental! I remember crying, sobbing these uncontrollable tears like an unashamed teen groupie (I'm heading for 20...), singing along with her, scarcely believing that after months of waiting IT REALLY WAS HER, the illustrious Miss B on the stage in front of me!
Her voice was in fine form and the live band looked amazing together on stage. I've forgotten which songs they played and in what order, but the best moments of the evening had to be "My Beautiful Flower" "Blasphemous Girl" ("This is for all the girls out there...the BLASPHEMOUS GIRLS!" *cue all the girls going mental*) and "Stoopid" - although sadly some irreverant motherf*ckers in the crowd didn't get it when Miss B called for a moment of silence before that tribute. Tairrie broke down before she got the end and her tears were as real as mine. Miss B herself was fantastic and seemed totally at ease up there with her brand new project on their last but one date. A force to be reckoned with, she hauled some teeny dickhead who grabbed her doll-parts during "Monster" on stage + had him apologise to everyone before she had him thrown out!! Go Grrrl!! But she also handed out water to the moshed-out crowd and told us we were "awesome" - we love you Tairrie!!!
After a fantastic rendition of "Luna" came a raw and grinding "Sick With It" where Tairrie looked me straight in the eye and I screamed along with her, and then she said her goodbyes. Cue more tears from me *sob, what can I say? The lady is amazing...*
When the crowd had dispersed, Melanie and Lance came out and signed our tickets. Melanie gave me a big hug because she could see that I'd been crying and put one of her red sparkly bracelets round my arm!!!! I love her! Unfortunately, our ride home was going and we didn't get to meet Tairrie, but still, it was Hell of a night, etched forever in my memory - and my bro, his first gig and he got Marcelo's drum stick and a kiss form Mel!!
