"We Attack in 48 Hours"
Part 10

Military bunkers. The biker mice are all in the men's dormitory, sleeping like babies, and snoring like pigs. Stoker laughs as he walks into the bunker and takes the bed above Throttle's. Man is it good to have them back. Stoker climbs under the sheets and falls asleep within a few minutes.

The girls dormitory. Everyone is asleep except for Tiko and Carbine. They are outside looking at the stars. "So Carbine, what's so special about Stargazer, that you would give Throttle up. Not that I'm complaining mind you." Carbine chuckles, "I guess I was just tired of waiting for Throttle. In my business you need to be tough, but I am still a woman, and I need to feel like someone loves me. I know that Throttle was in love with me, but I needed him here. I met Stargazer and he swept me off my feet." Tiko smiles, "I know what you mean, I am the exact same way." The two sit together and just stare at the stars. "Can you tell me how you are approaching the enemy?" Carbine looks at Tiko, "we are attacking them at their headquarters. Luckily, they only have one. We are going to use your cloaking devices to hide the civilians here in a safe house. I am also leaving 20 troops here to protect them, just a precaution if they are attacked. I have a feeling all the Sand Raiders will be fighting us. I am going to break us up into units, about 10 per unit. We are going to surround the base and engage them. We have been constructing a machine that goes underground, I will send in 5 elite Freedom Fighters to go inside the compound and blow it up. Once it is destroyed, the Sand Raiders will run, become outcasts." Tiko frowns, "aren't you afraid they will just rebuild and attack again in the future?" Carbine nods, "they probably will. But I refuse to just completely wipe them out. If we need to fight them again, then so be it." Carbine gets up and says goodnight to Tiko, who decides to stay outside a little longer. Wars are always the same, it's always about loss, never gain. And to be honest, courage is just fear that lasts a little longer. Tiko stands up and decides to retire to bed, she has briefings to do tomorrow.

The next morning. Tiko is standing infront of about 250 Martian Mice who will be fighting in the battle tomorrow, she smiles as she can see the determined look on their faces. "Now, with out further delay, I would like to introduce Tiko, she will brief you on the weapons you will be using during the battle. Please give her your undivided attention." The General steps down and Tiko stands behind the podium. "First of all, call me T, please. Now, here we have a automatic blaster which has 7 settings." Tiko holds up the blaster to show the mice what it looks like. "On the outside of the chamber there is a lever which you pull towards you in order to increase the effects of the settings. There are little lights that turn on when you activate them. The higher the settings, the more damage it does. Level one will stun your enemy but it will not disable him, if you wish to knock them unconscious, setting 4 will work no matter what his size is. If you wish to exterminate your enemy, Level 7 will get the job done. There is a safety device located here by the trigger, if it's lighted green, the safety is on, if it's red, the safety is off. There is only one other safety precaution you must take. These are programmed to work on Martian Mice and humans alone. If you are not a mouse or human, the gun will send an electro shock to your heart and kill you. Is anyone here not a mouse or human?" Tiko can see three hands being raised. "In that case, I will program a gun for you to use that will work on mice, humans and your DNA only. If you lose your gun in battle, do NOT and I mean do NOT pick up anyone else's gun. It will kill you within seconds." A few of the mice look grim, "but if you are a mouse, then you can pick up any gun, it will not harm you." Tiko goes to a table and picks up a little, flat, round device. "This is a cloaking device. You can place it on any object and it will make it invisible, including life forms. All you have to do is place it on the surface and push the round button in the center." Tiko demonstrates by putting it on her forehead and pushing the red button. Some of the mice gasp while others cheer. Tiko pushes the button again and she reappears. "Now, in order for all of you to see cloaked objects, you will be given an injection. It will seem to you that the object is not invisible. If you wish to become invisible during battle, simply place it on your skin and push the round button. Even if you wish to be cloaked or not, everyone will be issued a device incase of an emergency." Tiko goes back to the table and picks up a small round silver ball that is about the size of a large marble. "These are flash grenades. They will blind whoever is looking at them for about 5 minutes. To trigger the effect, you simply push this black button, it is no bigger then the size of a pinhead, but it is easy to push. Once you detonate it, you have 3 seconds to throw them." Tiko steps from behind the podium and stands on the edge of the stage. "From what I understand we will be facing 500 Sand Raiders compared to our 250 warriors. They seem like impossible odds, but I can assure you that if we out think the enemy, we will be victorious and you can once again claim back your land. War is about loss, but it is also about purpose."

With that said Tiko stands down and leaves the briefing, she starts to walk back to her barracks when she fells a hand grab her arm. Tiko spins around to attack whoever grabbed her, but she smiles when she sees it is Throttle. "Hey babe, you sure left in a hurry." Tiko just shrugged, "I saw no reason to stay I guess." Throttle cups Tiko and leans down to kiss her, but Tiko pulls away. "What's wrong babe?" Tiko wraps her arms around Throttle's neck and nuzzles his chest, "nothing I guess. I just have a bad feeling about tomorrow, like I'm going to lose something precious to me." Throttle wraps his arms around Tiko and rubs her back with his fingertips. "Don't worry babe, I won't let anything happen to you." Tiko chuckles into his chest, "it's not me I'm worried about." Throttle holds Tiko harder to him and lays his cheek on the top of her head. "I love you Tiko." Tiko looks up into Throttle's eyes and presses her mouth to his. Responding to her caress, Throttle pulls Tiko closer and presses his lips against hers, crushing them beneath his hungry ones. Tiko breaks the kiss and nuzzles his chest again, "I love you too Throttle, always and forever."
