Typically are found in tropical and warm temperate seas around the world, especially far offshore in the deeper waters.

Not much is known about the Rough-Toothed Dolphin in the wild.

These dolphins form groups of several hundred. Groups of 50 or less are more common.

The Rough-Toothed Dolphin can be seen with Pilot Whales and Bottle-Nosed Dolphins. They have rarely but have been seen around Spotted and Spinner Dolphins.

These dolphins eat pelagic octopus, several types of fish, and squid.

Individual and group strandings occur frequently.
