Group Size: Range from 1-7 animals and 1-40. There is 1 exception to this, an example would be a case where 100 were reported together.

Behavior: This wild swimmer is able to reach speed exceeding 12 knots. They are known to bow-ride and ride the stern waves off of fast moving boats and ships. However, they will ride along slower moving vessels as well. This species may swim along with other marine species such as Fin Whales, Sei Whales, Southern Bottlenose Whales, Arnoux’s Beaked Whales, Killer Whales, and Southern Rightwhale Dolphins.

Where to look for Hourglass Dolphins: Colder waters of the southern hemisphere, predominantly between 45 degrees south and 65 degrees south.
