Chapter Five:
Nothing At All
It's amazing how you
Can speak right to my heart
Without saying a word
You can light up the dark
Try as I may
I can never explain
What I hear when you
Don't say a thing
The smile on your face
Let's me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes
Saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says
You'll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best
When you say nothing at all
Brian looked sideways at Dana, and smiled softly. She was amazing, he had to admit. The moon reflected on the shallow puddles that were splayed across the pavement. It was a beautiful night. The breeze blew past them gently, and Dana unconciously moved closer to Brian. His arm grazed hers, and they locked eyes. Dana blushed, and Brian smiled at her.
"Chilly?" he asked.
I think I love you.
"Yeah," she nodded.
I really do.
"It is pretty cold out," he offered some conversation, though neither of them objected the silence.
"Yeah, it is kinda cold for Florida."
A young couple walked past, hand in hand, and Dana wished it was she and Brian.
"You really knew?"
She smiled. "Yeah."
"And you didn't care?"
"No."
"Why... if I may ask, why?"
"Why what?"
"Why didn't you care? Why are you that mature that you can treat everyone normally? Why can't everyone be like you?"
"I didn't care because you're only human. I'm not actually that mature. Everyone is different," she answered simply.
They just walked in the silence, feeling safe despite everything that was happening around them. Nothing but the sound of their footsteps was heard, and Dana enjoyed it. She loved being with him, even though she'd only known him for a few days.
"You're really something, Dana. Really somthing."
He was quiet again, and Dana didn't want to interrupt the peace that had surrounded them. So she didn't.
All day long I can hear people
Talking out loud
But when you hold me near
You drown out the crowd
Try as they may
They can never define
What's been said between
Your heart and mine
The smile on your face
Let's me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes
Saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says
You'll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best
When you say nothing at all
The smile on your face
Let's me know that you need me
There's a truth in your eyes
Saying you'll never leave me
The touch of your hand says
You'll catch me wherever I fall
You say it best
When you say nothing at all
Nothing at all
