In the early versions they played it:

I see you falling how long to go before you hit the ground
For the Whiplash version, they use a capo for the intro.
Where you place your capo depends on how your guitar is tuned.
I'm pretty sure it's the 5th fret when standard tuned… and they play:
G D Em C
