Jonathan grew up with his brother Daniel living in San Francisco with their mother,
who at the time was a junior officer posted to Starfleet Command with the Engineering Corps,
and his father, a junior officer with Starfleet Security. Both Jonathan and Daniel dreamed
of becoming Starfleet Officers and even played out those dreams.
In 2357 Jonathan and Daniel began Elementary School in San Francisco and
were in the same class the whole way through. They were practically
inseparable during this time. This stayed the same during Middle school
also. They had their fair share of friends of course but they always
managed to remain best friends as well as brothers. However when they
started Grammar School they were placed in separate class and gradually grew
apart.
In 2368 Jonathan applied for Starfleet Law School and was accepted at the
tender age of Sixteen. Jonathan was quite advanced and was the youngest
person at the time admitted. He excelled while at Law School and when the
time came to decide where to go he choose to join Starfleet and was accepted
into Starfleet Academy when he was 18.
He enjoyed his time at the Academy and although Daniel was also at the
Academy the two rarely saw each other. His majors were Helm Control and
Engineering. His minors were Ops and Science. He graduated the Academy in
2374 and was highest in his class.
The same month he was assigned to the USS Bartlet as on of the relief Conn
Officers. He served there until her destruction at the hands of the
Dominion, during the war, a year later. During his time on the Bartlet he
was promoted to Lieutenant j.g. He was only one of 10 the survive the
attack. He was transferred to the USS Galaxy as one of her Engineers and
dated a fellow Engineers. He served there for two years during which he was
promoted to Lieutenant in 2377. He was transferred back to Earth to serve
as a JAG officer not long after the war.
