SEICHIM
SEKHEM
Last update 6/14/2002
Seven Facet Seichim Sekhem consists of two workshops which cover the seven facets of Seichim and the four levels of Sekhem.
Sekhem means power. We use this power with compassion
Seichim, Seichem, Sekhem, or SKHM? Schools A number of versions of Seichim abound. From the early history
of Seichim, those involved have elaborated on the basic theme, each in her or
his own individual way, creating the various "schools" of Seichim/Seichem/Sekhem/SKHM.
Regardless of the lineage or spelling, the common thread among all the schools is a
powerful focus on clearing emotional blockages. SEVEN FACET SEICHIM
is the first
system I was initiated into. My lineage has the symbols which are used in other
lineages, as well as a strong mystical influence from Sekhmet, the
lion-headed Egyptian goddess of healing. I was later initiated into another
lineage of Seven Facet Seichim, sometimes called Renegade Seichim, which
has several different symbols. I have incorporated this lineage into my Seichim
training. SEICHIM-SEKHEM-REIKI (SSR), another
lineage of Seichim to which I have been initiated, incorporates the symbols of
the American systems, but without the Sekhmet influence. SEKHEM
is a system which was
developed from my lineage of Seven Facet Seichim by Helen Belot of Australia. It
incorporates seven unique and powerful symbols not found in any of the other
lineages/systems. SKHM is the system now taught by
Patrick Zeigler, who originally brought Seichim to the modern world’s
attention. SEICHEM, formerly called Sai Baba
Reiki, and now called Tera Mai, is a system which was developed by
Kathleen Milner early on and has followed its own course. The symbols of Seichem
are the same as those of Karuna Reiki. This system is differentiated by Milner’s
claim that, if any other energy healing system is used subsequent to initiation
into Seichem, the Seichem attunements will be lost. How is Seichim energy different? It is commonly said that Seichim is of a different vibrational
frequency than Reiki. As I understand it, it is merely an extension of the same
energy, and, just as, in school, our knowledge increases as we rise through the
grade levels, so the vibrational frequency of the energy we can channel
increases as we further attune ourselves to it. When we first become attuned,
this Living Light Energy from Source flows through us at a certain frequency
which is compatible with our physical system and will not damage it (compare
with the concept of different electrical currents in different parts of the
world). Subsequent attunements allow the body’s "electrical system"
to tolerate higher frequencies, and so we then bring those frequencies in as we
channel the energy. The feel is different, leading many to determine that
it is a different energy entirely, yet, if we are to accept the basic tenet that
the energy being channeled comes from Source, or God, then, perhaps, all that is
happening is merely a different focus on the energy, a different level
of channeling ability, and a few different techniques. In Seven Facet Seichim, the first three of the seven facets
are equivalent to the three levels of Reiki and use the same symbols (the first
two levels of Sekhem are equivalent to the first two levels of Reiki). Thus,
Facets Four through Seven might be said to be of a higher vibrational level.
Even in Reiki it is said that, with each successive attunement, the ability to
channel more, or higher vibrational, energy increases. As Seichim is the first
or second series of attunements which many people receive, this fact might
easily be missed or overlooked. Regardless, the Seichim attunements imparted to
me are among the most powerful energy transmissions which I have received. Seichim history The history of Seichim is short but varied. Patrick Zeigler
first brought out Seichim. Where he got it from is a subject of much discussion.
As Seichim is, like Reiki, a channeled energy, it is safe to say that Zeigler
channeled Seichim. It is said that the information came from an ancient being
called Marat. Zeigler taught this system to T’om Seaman, and (as Zeigler told
me at one point) Seaman came up with a number of symbols, many of which Ziegler
rejected. (Today, according to what I am told, Zeigler uses only the infinity
symbol. Later, Seaman attuned Phoenix Summerfield (also known as Kathleen
McMaster). Zeigler, Seaman, and Summerfield were friends, and worked together
for some time. Summerfield taught Marsha Burack, who taught my teacher, Gary
Jirauch, and she also taught Helen Belot, of Australia, who developed her own
school, Sekhem, with a focus on Sekhmet, and several symbols which appear in no
other Seichim lineage/system. I have been attuned to the SKHM which Zeigler now teaches, to
two Seven Facet Seichim, lineages (T’om Seaman and Phoenix Summerfield),
Sekhem (Belot lineage), and Seichim-Sekhem-Reiki (Shewmaker lineage). I teach
Seichim Sekhem, combining the Seven Facet Seichim version to which I was first
attuned with Sekhem, and including all the symbols and techniques of
all the systems I have received. Zeigler, himself, has never condemned the
changes, or additions, to Seichim, holding that each person who receives Seichim
will make it their own. Seichim grows

Spellings of the word differ: it is spelled Seichim, Sekhem, SKHM, and Seichem. Seichim is
said to be the Sanskrit spelling, but Sanskrit uses a different alphabet, or writing system, so
Seichim is merely a phonetic transcription of the Sanskrit. Seichem is another spelling of this
word. Sekhem is said to be the ancient Egyptian spelling of the word, yet
ancient Egyptian used a different writing
system, so, again, what we have is another phonetic rendition. SKHM is said to be the
true phonetic rendition of the Arabic, claimed to be the truest rendition because Arabic
has no vowels, yet Arabic does have sounds which, in English, are called vowels, and which
are represented in written English with letters which we call vowels. These sounds, in written
Arabic, are indicated by inflections of the consonants, so a phonetic rendition into English of the
Arabic word would, ostensibly, require the inclusion of vowels, as English uses separately
written vowels in conjunction with consonants to depict the sounds. The debate is not worth the
time, actually, as we cannot render words letter for letter when translating, and certainly
not when transcribing phonetically the sounds of other languages. All this is, of course, the
musing of a linguist.

It happens that I also have and use some of the others which are mentioned in other lineages, such as Heart of the Christos; Heart of Gaia, Align with God, Eeftchay, Angel Wings, Merge Consciousness, as well as the Infinity symbol. I also teach them to my students.
Miscellaneous Musings
When I received my first Seichim attunements, I had no idea about lineages or
anything, and I didn’t care... I had seen the face of the goddess Sekhmet on
a Seichim workbook, and had been so drawn that I had to schedule my
attunements as soon as possible. I really didn’t care who the humans were
who had facilitated the arrival of this wonderful opportunity.
It has been said that Gary Jirauch calls this Ancient Egyptian Reiki. It is entirely possible that
he experimented with that title years back, when all the trademark wars were gearing
up, but when I worked with him he called it Seichim - and that is the name on the class manual I have from
him.
