Here is a little project I did. I have the Bible on CD that I listen to, but I wanted the Gospels in Chronological order. For those who may not be familiar with it, it’s the four Gospels written out in one long story form from Jesus’ birth to His Resurrection, consolidating the duplicated material. I have it in written form in a Bible, but couldn’t find in anywhere in audio form on a cassette or CD, so I ended up making a copy myself. I took the Chronological Bible that I had and what I did was read it into a mic onto my computer to my hard drive. It is in NO way a professional recording, but it does do the job I wanted. Oh yeah, and it's in a nice Bostonian accent, too !
The files are in MP3 file format. The Chrono-Gospels is in about a 300 MB file size. When it's converted to .wav audio format, it's about 5 audio disks.
I also have an audio Bible in MP3 format. I didn't record this one with my own voice, but the site I got it from said people are able to share it freely. Each half of the Bible is about a 700MB file. If one were to convert these to audio files, I think it would take up about 66 audio disks, but only 2 MP3 format disks. AMAZING !!
I'd be happy to try to share these with whoever may be interested. You can use them in your Ipod,MP3 player, or just listen on your computer. I just found this site called www.yousendit.com which allows people to upload 1GB max files to be stored on the server for 7 days for others to download. If you want, send me an email with "Chrono-Gospels" in the subject line, and we can try to do the file upload/download. I believe what happens is that I upload the files, type in your email address, then you get an email with a link of where to go download the files. Just lemme know.
