Well, I'm a Single/White/Male/Born Again Christian/Vegetarian/vegan born in March of '68. I have one younger sister who's getting married soon. Ok, NOW that I've gotten the preliminary info that most people want to know out of the way, I can begin with my ranting. So anyway, I live about 20 minutes north of Boston in Massachusetts…..born and raised here. Ok,……..go ahead……..yes, "I pahk my caah in Haavahd yahd". I DO have quite the "Bahstonian" accent,though. Even my friends give me a haahd time about it ! SEE !! It even shows up in my typing !! Anyway, this is my first attempt at doing a web page. This angelfire.com site is pretty cool!! It makes it VERY easy,even for computer illiterates like ME! (<---FREE PLUG FOR ANGELFIRE). I thought it'd be a good creative outlet! I guess YA’LL can be the judge!
I'm a born again Christian. I have been since about November of 1993 or so. JESUS IS LORD and has TOTALLY changed my life !! Now, my whole life is centered around my relationship with HIM and it is SOOOO much more rewarding. You can read more about my quest for answers in my essay.
When I first became a Christian, I attended a small, non-denominational church. I learned sooooo much there as far as The Bible goes. After going there for a few years and learning and growing on my own, something just didn't seem right. It seemed too legalistic, controlling, unhealthy, and not very balanced. I mean, God IS Holy, and I believe we should live morally ,but I also believe it is The Lord's job to guide us and change us, and not the convictions and opinions of others. Now I attend a healthy well blanced Assemblies of GOD church. I love it there!! The people there are great! There is such a sense of love and community. I try to be very involved at my church. I am involved with Christian drama. I have been doing plays at my church and with a local Christian drama group. I think the performing arts is such a great way to put out the Message of The Good News. I love learning new things, ESPECIALLY about the things of GOD. I don't get too much time to read anymore, but I listen to audiobooks on tape, the Bible on cassette, and Christian radio. I LOOOVVVE Christian talk radio!! I work by myself, so I have a pair of radio headphones and I listen for 8 hours/5 days a week. I have learned soooooo much!! It's kinda weird, I listen so much, I feel like I actually KNOW the people !! I love Christian counseling type shows. A few of the shows I listen to are Focus on the Family, Family Life Today, and my favorite one is New Life Live
. (Email me if you listen to THE BOYS!!!!) I love it because it talks about how to live out the Bible, PRACTICALLY!! It just feels like the REAL DEAL, ya know?? I'm also taking some correspondence courses in Christian Psych/Counseling from www.globaluniversity.edu .
I LOVE Christian music!!! I listen to all kinds,…..from Acapella to Zydaco. Let's see….....a few of my favs......Newsboys, DC Talk, Supertones, Five Iron Frenzy, Steven Curtis Chapman, Audio Adrenaline, World Wide Message Tribe, P.O.D. ,Jars Of Clay, E.D.L., Smalltown Poets, Caedmon's Call, PAX217, Thousand Foot Krutch, Pillar, Imagine This........oh man, there's sooo much cool music out there now !!! THANK GOD !!! I thought that when I became a Christian I would have to listen to ONLY hymns!! Don't get me wrong,...I like hymns....but I like VARIETY !!!! I got rid of all my secular CDs I that owned when I was not Chrisian, and GOD has blessed me with music which I like MORE than the stuff I had before. GOD honors our sacrifices!!
Let's seeeeee.....oh.....I don't eat anything with a face. I'm a vegetarian...vegan, actually, and aspiring raw-foodist. I hate saying I'm a vegetarian. It sounds like a religion. Or people think I just eat twigs, grass, and mulch or something. Or they think I'm an animal rights activist, which I am NOT. Sure, GOD has told us to CARE for the animals, BUT animals are not even CLOSE to the level of importance or value which GOD places on PEOPLE. I have done a lot of reading on nutrition. I read this book called Fit For Life that blew my mind. THEN, I read this book called God’s Way To Ultimate Health which REALLY blew my mind !!! You can check it out at the Hallelujah Acres web site for more info. It just made sooo much common sense and talked about other stuff that just totally grossed me out. Since then, I haven’t really eaten meat or dairy, for the most part.
For work, I am an electrician, as is my dad. I have been doing it since about 1981. My dad started taking me to work with him when I was a little guy and I just kept working. It’s pretty cool. It has it’s ups and downs like any other job. The UPS are that I’m usually working at a lot of different places and I like working with my hands. The DOWNS are that some of the jobs can be lousy and the people can be difficult to deal with.
When I am NOT working I love spending time with GOD’S people and fellowshipping. I drive a 97 black Jeep Wrangler. It is sooo cool !! I love just cruisin’ around listening to Christian music!! I like going to the movies. I will see just about anything. I try to pick movies that will not be too raunchy or un-GODLY. It’s getting harder to find ‘em ,though. If I try to sit through a movie with a lot of swearing and stuff, I start to feel really uncomfortable. It must be The HOLY SPIRIT’S conviction,I guess. I do a bit of weightlifting and cardio exercise. I try to exercise a few times a week. I LOVE traveling, ESPECIALLY cruises !! I also love rollercoasters. I've been to a LOT of theme parks. So far, no other park has been as good as Cedar Point in Sandusky,Ohio. That is the best park for coasters, by far !! I also love snorkeling and I'm also a PADI certified open water SCUBA diver. I've been skydiving and bungee jumping. I've also gone rock climbing and ice climbing. Anyway, alls this to say I LOVE to see new places and try new things !!!!!!!
