I am sure almost everyone that reads this will not have heard of Jerkwater since they are a fairly small band from Brandon Canada. Let's just say your missing out on something really great. This album is one of the best albums of the year 2000, and I recommend doing whatever you have to do to get it. The lead singer Darwin Foster's vocals, which sound slightly inspired by Maynard James Keenan, are some of the best I've ever heard, honestly. Not only can he sing, but he has this cool growl thing that makes him sound really pissed off. A good example of this is at the end of Lonely Ed. The drums played by Terry Brown are well done, but I think he could have used toms more often, as well as having the bass drum a bit louder. Lyall Catagas plays guitar on this CD and he comes up with some really cool riffs like the chorus on House Coven. But another strong point of this CD is Atik (Tik) Mason's bass playing. The Forrest within shows off his bass the best on this album. I would have to say that the strongest songs on this record are Seek Within, The Forrest Within and Lonely Ed. The weakest song would definately be River, it doesn't have the same greatness as the rest of the CD. I hope Jerkwater makes it for two reasons, One being that their are not enough good bands out there that you can walk into any CD store and pick up their albums, Secondly the only mainstream heavy Canadian bands is Kittie and that's just plain embarassing.

My Review: 4.25/5

1. Seek Within
2. House Coven
3. The Labyrinth of Signs
4. The Forrest Within
5. Lonely Ed {the evolution of revolution}
6. Run
7. River
8. Misguided {basement mix}
