This is a very old, established club. It was formed in
1883 and has a wealth of history within it's archives.
The OEMC owns some extremely valuable antique trophies
which are awarded to members over the year and presented
at the AGM. The Club has it's own annual Spring Open Show,
a Summer Championship Show, usually ending the year
with an educational event in the Autumn.
The Committee Members and Officers of both these Clubs
are only too pleased to help and advise owners who maybe
experiencing problems with their mastiffs. Prospective
owners can take advantage of both clubs' puppy lines thus
ensuring they they are buying a puppy which has been bred
in accordance with the common Code of Ethics.
Justice For Dogs- Anne Harpwood - Tel/Fax 01544 370213
Unfortunately in the UK there is a very vociferous
lobby against the average dog owner. Since the 1991
Dangerous Dogs Act came into force dogs can be
forcibly removed just for barking at someone. Dog
owners are at the mercy of overzealous policeman and
local council officials. Justice For Dogs will give
help and advice to anyone who is experiencing these
sort of difficulties. The membership fee is minimal
but the help and advice given when problems arise is
inestimable.
