Un Named3 is my new 12 pound fighting robot! He is a HUGE improvement over mini KNOME1 for these 7 reasons.
1. His saw is double the power of mini KNOME1's
2. He uses tank treads now VS. mini KNOME1's lawn mower tires!
3. he is controled by a 8 channel FM radio VS. mini KNOME1's 2 channel AM one.
4. He is using two team delta H-Bridge controlers for much more realiable control then my home hade POS's!
5. He has COOL LOOKING AURMOR!
6. He is packing 24 subC nicads!
7. He has interchangable saw blade and bashing blade assemblies!
First off I wanted Un Named3 to be able to PUSH HARD! so I decided to go with tank treads I took off of a remote control car and put mouse pad on them for added traction, Un Named3 can now push a 20 pound block of batteries before the tank treads start peeling out! here is a picture of a tank tread.
Next I wanted a light strong frame so I used PVC and alluminum angle stock to build the frame. then I decided I wanted to make this robot VERRY visible so I decided to go with 1/8" thick accrilic for aurmor, accrilic is VERRY flexible, cheaper than lexan, but not quite as strong and a little heavier than lexan. now that I had a cool frame, cool tank treads, and cool aurmor I decided to do a COOL whepon! so I took the old saw motor out of mini KNOME1 and mounted it on a 13" U shaped arm ond bolted that to the frame. here is a pic of the saw motor mounted.
Then wired up the team delta boards to my radio recever, batteries, and motors. Then built a electronic speed controler for the saw, and took it for a test drive! I was verry pleased with how it handles! and even more pleased with how much damage it inflicted on mini KNOME1's old shell and body! Here are some finushed product pictures!!
