JUNE 13. W'BURG ST.CLAIR PEEWEE RIVER LEAGUE TEAM FACED FIRST NATIONS SARNIA WEDNESDAY AND PLAYED A FANTASTIC GAME TAKING SARNIA 10-3. GREAT PITCHING BY STARTER CHAD TURNER AND RELEAF PITCHER JAMES WEBSTER KEPT THE OPPOSITION TO VERY FEW HITS. THE WHOLE TEAMS BATS WERE HOT .THE HIGHPOINT OF THE GAME WAS WHEN DAN[GRANDSLAM] COMO [ON LOAN FROM THE PEEWEE TRAVEL TEAM] HIT THE FIRST GRAND SLAM OF THE SEASON.GREAT JOB BY ALL. Pitching was good so was the defence and timely hitting


June 20 Wallaceburg peewee faced off against Port Lambton in W'burg. The final score was Port Lambton 13 W'burg 2. In a well played game that saw the pitching debut of Wade Gurd for the Warriors. Chad Turner, Sam Courtis and Brad Hooper also pitched trying to hold off the opposition but fell short in a valiant effort in this game. Everyone played well and had a "bunch o fun". This puts the Warriors record thus far at 5 wins and 3 losses. A great season so far. Next home game is Wednesday, June 27 vs Courtright at Steinough Park.

Mosquito River "b" team tried hard in a well played game against Sarnia but fell to a score of Sarnia 17,W'burg 5.


June 22
W'burg Peewee River team played in Courtright to a win for W'burg 13, Courtright 5. Starting pitcher Chad Turner had a great outing shutting down the opposition in the first 2 innings and then handed over the ball to Brad Hooper to close out the game . Everyone hit hard and played good defence. This win puts W'burgs record at 6 + 3.

Wallaceburg at Corunna handed Corunna a 36-1 thrashing on tuesday
June 19. Wyoming at Wallaceburg another victory for Wallaceburg 19-5.
Wallaceburg is 5 and 2. Wallaceburg went to harrow on the weekend for a tournament and posted a 3 and 1 record. Friday night played Wyoming defeating them 9 - 8. Saturday morning defeating Belle River 8-7.
saturday afternoon defeating stoney point 19-17. lost Sunday morning 13-4 to Harrow. a great effort by all the players. special note: in the hit run and throw competition held on saturday afternoon, Brendan Hedges won first place in the throwing event. Dustin Cornish finished forth in the running event.

W'burg Peewee River League team faced off against First Nations Sarnia in Sarnia and played to a 7-3 win. Starting pitcher Dan Como on loan once again from the Peewee Travel Team pitched 2 solid innings not giving up a run then handed the ball to their own Chad Turner who followed up with great pitching. Closing was Samantha Courtis who kept the runs down. Play of the day was Dan Como turning the solo double play. Special thanks to Dustin Moninger and Jason Childs for all their help in the game.


Corunna 11 M 2 M Warriors 12


Strong starting pitching from Dan Como, and solid relief by Dustin Machacek gave the Warriors the victory. Key hits by Julian Robinson, Brendan Sands, Brad McCallum, Tim Rogeist and Dustin Machacek powered the offence. The Warriors are now 5-4 for the season.

July 11/01
The W'burg Peewee River team hosted Sarnia First Nations in a close game where W'burg won 9-7. Great pitching, fielding and hot bats gave the ppeewee Warriors the edge.


July 12/01

W'burg traveled to Port Lambton for this game. James[l.d.]Webster pitched a great 4 innings giving the Warriors a 9-3 win. Defense and great hitting was the key to this win everyone was on their toes. A special thanks to the great umpiring skills of the plate and base umps they were awesome!!
This brings W'burgs record to 9+4
