William the Bastard: 1038 to 1047
At the French court you find the king busy as usual. He seems somewhat disturbed at the sight of you: perhaps he was not aware of just how serious the rebellion had become. But he remains sympathetic, and promises to raise an army to come to your aid as soon as possible. This doesn't appear to be immediately, so you have several options:
Wait around at the French court until king Henry is ready, then march into Normandy with him.
Go on a pilgrimage to increase your prestige and possibly gain papal support.
Return to Normandy to raise such forces as you can, keep your enemies occupied, and stay mobile until king Henry's army is ready, then meet him.
