I grew up with pomeranian's and thought that they were "The Toy Breed." In 1983 I bought my first yorkie and fell totally in love with the breed. Daddy Diuqs, sounds like Dukes, and is Squid spelt backwards. My husband named him so what can I say.... Duiqs was my first stud dog and is the father to my first homebred Champion yorkie. In the picture above, Duiqs is 11 years old and starting to show his age. He didn't make it to the show ring himself, but passes on strong attributes to his children and grandkids. His perfect 4 lb. square body, tight ear set, terrier head, and steal blue silk coat. As of 1996 the pom's are gone, as housing both yorkies and pom's was like night and day. The yorkies wanted the heat up and the pom's wanted the air-conditioning on. I like to call pom's the "old person dog" and the yorkies are the happy, fun, family dog. After having yorkies, I just can't see ever living without one, as what would a person be without a shadow?
