Prayer, Meditation and Manifestation
Did you ever pray and feel that as you prayed you were receiving the very thing you asked for? Well, if you have you are well on your way to manifesting your dreams. In this book Marcia takes the reader on a step by step discovery of how that came together for her in her own life, as she invites you to higher levels of prayer and healing for your own journey.
This is mainly a self help book along her own “Road Less Traveled.” She highlights how her journey from Catholicism helped her come to terms with suffering, and then gives examples of healing from her own life and the lives of those she worked with at a Protestant church she served. She also addresses issues like prayer, and meditation, how to meditate, and how to contact the still small voice within for guidance in every aspect of one’s life. It is both a spiritual self help book and fascinating collection of true stories.
One of her stories from this book, Prayer Meditation and Manifestation, was selected by Neale D. Walsch, to be featured in his new magazine, Moments of Grace. Neale is best selling author of the world renown Conversations With God trilogy.
The title ,“ A Special Student” details a fascinating request from a former (deceased) student in the spirit realm. Marcia learned in this encounter that her student was in need of communication for her deaf parents, deep in grief. She learned to channel to assist her parents. This is just one story continuing along her spiritual path, a journey
whose heights and depths expand as the author matures.
Miracles and Mountains to Climb: A Spiritual Odyssey
This spiritual odyssey will appeal to those interested in spirituality and inspiration and those who study A Course in Miracles. It is New Age in essence, with quite a bit of traditional spirituality. The story is about a woman’s adventures both A Course in Miracles and in mountain climbing at the Dolly Sods. In the context of outdoor adventure, inspiration fuses with spiritual insight to assist this seeker on her path.
This spiritual story is an exciting adventure, of one woman’s struggle with both healing and mountains to climb. The mountain becomes a metaphor for her quest for truth, with important insights along the way.
Miracle and Mountains to Climb is ecumenical, encompassing both traditional and Course spirituality. It does not attempt to synthesize both. Those readers who enjoy Kathleen Norris, ecumenical author par excellence, bestselling author of Dakota: a Spiritual Geography, will likely find Marcia McMahon’s Miracles and Mountains to Climb, very similar.
It is a true to life drama of one woman's’ search for healing and truth, which seemed at first glance, to lead to anything but transformation. As Helen Keller once said, “ Life is an exciting adventure or nothing at all.”
Marcia McMahon is the recipient of the 1997 Rose Richmond Award for Creative Non-Fiction from the Springfield Area Arts Council, Springfield, Illinois. for her story, The Dolly Sods, a chapter from Miracles and Mountains to Climb.
