A Date With Diana

For Suzanne King,

In gratitude...

A Date with Diana on her wedding day...

A Princess in ivory, now Queen for a day..

The world held its breath, as she walked down the aisle..
And we all fell in love with Diana’s bright smile...

A Date with Diana,in peri-wink blue...
A dainty perfection, so tender and true…

She would be part, of the royal parade...
We would march with her, each step that she made....

A Date with Diana, in blue and white dress...
There in Australia surrounded by Press...

She danced with her prince, and in the world’s heart...
We knew she was special and did from the start...

A Date with Diana, in rhinestones and pearls...
A vision of beauty in soft patterned swirls...

Pearls on her gown didn’t shine as her eyes...
Like sunshine and water and England’s blue skies...

A Date with Diana, in soft egg shell blue...
With sequins it glistened, a pearlized hue..

She walked in such glamour, the doors opened wide...
To invite this dear Princess to come on inside...

A Date with Diana, in black and bright red...
“Strong fashion statement” The glamour world said...

A brave matador, that one night she seemed...
Alone in a crowd, “Diana!” they screamed.

A Date with Diana, in black and white lace...
In regal attire, she walked with such grace..

An event filled with stars; a designers delight...
You saw only Diana, she lit up the night...

A Date with Diana, and the sick of Napal...
When she was needed, she heard the call...

No spoken words, just the touch of her hand...
Love speaks a language, we all understand...

A Date with Diana, we kept every one...
Each road that she walked, each battle she won...

We watched her in wonder, cast her magic spell...
And loved her and cheered her, we knew her so well...

A Date with Diana we kept the last one...
The world stood together in England’s bright sun...

And when it was over we stood by her side...
Together we mourned her…together we cried...

A Date with Diana, her last journey home...
An island of peace…where at last she’s alone...

Surrounded by water, and roses of red...
The flowers of springtime, all pillow her head...

A Date with Diana and this one won’t fade...
Held in honor and trust by Pink Ribbons Crusade.
