Marty Murray
Marty grew up in Lyleton, Manitoba, with his mother, Nancy, his father, Ian, his sister, Leah and his little brother, Robbie. He spent his earlier hockey years playing with Pierson Minor Hockey, as well as the regional Southwest Cougars, and then in the WHL for the Brandon Wheat Kings. He also represented Canada in the World Junior tournament.

While he was in Villacher, Austria he played in the Spangler Cup Tournament, a tournament that is held every year at Christmas time. He played in Davos, Switzerland, and played with Canadian National Team that picked up Canadian players playing in Europe. They won the tournament that year, and the next year he played in the same tourney with his own team of Kolner, Germany and won the tournament again.
In 2000, he moved back to North America and played in Saint John, New Brunswick. He was again selected by Canada's national team to play in the Spangler tournament. This time the team recieved runner-up. In the srping of 2001, he captained the Saint John Flames to the Calder Cup.
In the summer of 2001, he married Andrea Overby of Mohall, North Dakota. They now reside in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They make their summer home at Clear Lake, Manitoba.
He was drafted from the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League by Clagary in the fourth round (96th overall) of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft. He was signed as a free agent by the Philadelphia Flyers in July of '01. In January of '02, he signed a three year contract with the flyers.
