The Perfect Role Model

A Tribute To & In Memory of

My Wonderful Mother

Mary Earline Tiner Martin

Mary Earlene Tiner Martin

was escorted to her Heavenly home by her Savior, Jesus Christ,

on Thursday, June 24, 2010.

Awaiting her arrival were her husband, Paul,

her son, Philip, and her parents, Eugene and Minnie Tiner.

She was a joy to be around, loved by all who knew her and will be

 missed by many.

Long before I knew them

my grandparents were graciously blessed,

with a special delivery from Heaven

that was chosen from the Father's best.

She filled their home with great joy

and made them very proud;

And when it came to friends and beaus

she always drew a crowd.

She grew into a lovely woman

and stole a sailor's heart;

She knew she wanted to become a mom

right from the very start.

As a mother, she placed her dreams on hold,

caring for her children so unselfishly;

And no matter what I did or said

she never failed to love me unconditionally.

She was always there for us

in good times, as well as bad;

Always reaching out to comfort us

if we felt defeated or sad.

Throughout my life I've had many friends

with whom I've shared smiles and tears ...

But it was my mother who was always able

to erase my doubts and calm my fears.

To somehow replicate her maternal model

is the strongest desire of my heart,

And to cherish every memory of her

is the place I know I must start.

For her life is a shining example

of what I long to be;

I pray my children will see her, too,

whenever they look at me.

If only I can bring joy to others

as she did each and every day,

My days will be full and complete

as I travel along life's way.

For if I could be just like "Muv"

as I play this game called 'life',

two things I would become ...

a perfect mom and a perfect wife.

To imagine life now without her here

is too impossible a task!

To move forward from this day

is just too much to ask!

For though our minds cannot grasp

her sudden absence,

We must go on ... our daily lives

must somehow commence.

Family gatherings and holidays

will still take place;

But they'll seem surreal

without her smiling face.

You see, some people just flow through life

from day to day;

But others impact those they meet

along the way.

She was certainly one that touched

everyone she met;

And her life is one

we will never forget!

So mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend ...

we will miss you so,

but at least in our hearts

we will always know...

The moment you walked

through that pearly gate

You had never before

felt so great!

And now you're at peace...

no more sorrow or fear;

Your eyesight is perfect now,

and you'll never shed

another tear!

I envy you so, for you've now seen

the Savior's face...

The one who died for you

through His love and grace.

For now you are finally HOME

where you'll forever be

And it brings comfort to know

you're waiting for me.

To know that in God's own time,

in His own plan...

One day very soon

we'll all be together again!

I love you, Muv
