Flora and Fauna of British Columbia

A trip to British Columbia wouldn't be complete without photos of it's spectacular scenery. This little bit doesn't really do it justice, as I burned most of my film on trains, of course, but it should give you a little taste, especially if you've never visited the Pacific Northwest. The Vancouver area is extremely green, thanks mainly to the fact that it rains a lot (I happened to get lucky - no rain!) and there are many streams and rivers. Water even seems to come directly out of the rocks!

Awww. These little guys were coming right up to the fence at Stanley Park expecting a handout. There were actually several others behind them. But watch out! Raccoons, despite being cute, are notoriously vicious. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Stanley Park is the "Central Park" of Vancouver - a must see for a first-timer. And yes, they do have a miniature train ride.

Ah, the mascot of the Pacific Northwest. This banana slug was right in the middle of the path in the park, so it was impossible to miss, being over 5 inches long!
