Hey!! I'm back again so soon. I just wanted to update my gymnastics. The good news is I'm feeling great and work outs are going good. My ankle is pain free and strong and my shins are good too.

With the lack of healthy training I've had in the past 2 years my recent meet at the USAIGC nationals was such a pleasure. But I just didn't have enough time to prepare for the US Classics the way I wanted too. I also didn't want to rush but take my time and train healthy. I'm having a blast training. I just finished my freshman year so I have 3 more years to compete.

Courtney will be ready for Nationals but she is recovering from a small fracture in her foot; it is already better but it put her a few weeks behind. Also Glyn fractured her foot and will not be at Classics either.

I pray for everyone to be healthy and safe!

Hey,

Finally an update on my gymnastics. After I decided to pull out of the American Classic because of shin splints, I took February to May to do physical therapy. I didn't do much gymnastics, just therapy, trying to strengthen my ankle and leg muscles.

My ankle seems strong and no pain, but the shin splints still come and go. I started back training in May for the U.S. Classic and a zone in June. I wasn't ready for the zone but decided to go with the Hill's Level10 team to USAIGC Nationals. I had so much fun with my team. The Hill's Level 10 team got 1st overall. Jaime Schell won the Sr. AA and I won the Jr. AA with a 37.65 and that was with a fall on bars. I took most of my hard skills out except for my double arabian off bars and then I fell on it. Not enough time to be consistent yet, I guess. My highlight of the meet was I got a 9.75 out of 9.8 on my front pike vault! Boy was I happy. I was so very thankful to be competing again.

I hope and pray everyone has a healthy and happy summer.

Ashley

Well I made it through the US classic. I was soooo nervous, I hadn't competed an AA elite meet for a year and a half. I fell 4 times and messed up my bar routine so I felt blessed that I made it to championships. I know I got the nerves out and I hope to do much better at championships.

Courtney and Ashley Postell both did really good. Glyn had trouble on vault and floor but her beam was good. We were happy we all made it.

Lindsey Wing is really nice and she was so happy to compete again too. We were all so proud of Robin Phelps she did a great job. Elise as always was great and Erinn did bars since that is the only event she didn't do at the Pan Ams.

Well I have alot of work to do in the next 3 weeks. Especially on my self confidence. Thanks for listening.

Hey!!!!!!
The weather has been so nice here in Maryland. Elise and Erinn have been making plans for there proms. Its so fun they bring there dresses in so the whole team can see them. Courtney and I went shopping with Erinn for Prom shoes last night.

Courtney did good in Canada. In the Event Finals she got a 9.7 on beam and got 2nd! She was so happy!!!! She made friends with Tabitha Yim from Gliders and they e-mail back and forth. She said she was a lot of fun.

Congrats to teammate Jaime Schell she got 11th AA at the level 10 nationals. That was with a fall on beam.

Well I heard this saying the other day on "All my Children", my mom's favorite soap. Hope is what you live on until your dreams come true. I thought that was cool even if I did hear it on a soap opera.

Health to all,
Ashley
