Yantras

Numerological yantras can be used not only for divination but also worn as a talisman. The purpose of a talisman is twofold- to protect and strengthen the wearer, and to attract to the person what he or she wants. For thousands of years people have carried their own yantras with them forprotection and good luck. By making and using these magic squares (yantras) you will be taking part in an ancient tradition that is as relevant today as it has ever been in the past.

A Bit Of History: The first yantra was found in the markings of a tortoise shell some 5,000 years ago China, by a young man named "Wu". When Wu discovered the strange markings he called all the wise men to come and examine it. From their study came the I Ching, feng shui, chinese astrology, and chinese numerology. Partly because of this discovery, Wu of Hsia became the first emperor of China.

Wu's Yantra (The colors on this are not of importance, Just colors I picked)

This is the first magic square found. The Chinese civilation was well advanced in the time of Wu (2953-2838 B.C)

Your personal yantra is a magic square based on your date of birth. It can be used as a protective talisman drawn on paper or engraved. Your yantra is worn or placed in a place where it is felt it will do good. Yantras can be interpreted to provide amazing insights into your character and motivations.

MAKING YOUR YANTRA

1.) Make a 4x4 boxed square labeling each of the 16 squares with a letter of the alphabet. The first box in the left-hand corner would be labled "A",the next one to it "B", and so one, ending up with "P" in the lower right-hand corner. As you see ~figure A~ I have done this for you below.

Figure A

2.) Write the numer of your birth month in box "A"

3.) Put your day of birth in box "B"

4.) Place the last two digits of the year you were born in box "C" . Example: If I were born in 1978 I would put the number "78" in box "C".

5.)Add all the numbers in your date of birth together, including your whole year of birth. Example: Say I was born Aug. 2, 1970 I would then have (8+2+1970) Eight + 2+ 1970= 1980 Now we must reduce the total number we have by adding the numbers together, because I have 1980 I would then add 1+9+8+0=18 and once again because I have "18" I must add 1+8=9. At any time while reducing your numbers you have an "11" or a "22" stop reducing there. Now place the number you have ended up with in box "D".

6.) Add all the numbers in A-B-C and D together. Example: If I had an 8 in box "A", a 2 in box "B" , a "70" in box "C" and a 9 in box "D ", My total would be "89". Right this number down and remember it because all the other rows, horizontally, vertically, and diagonally must also add up to it.

7.) In ~figure A~ you have filled up all four of the top boxes. Now you will see in ~figure B~ that in box "E" it says "C-2" . Go to your box "C" in ~figure A~ and subtract "2" from the number you have there and place it in box "E" on ~figure A~. Example: I have the number "70" in box "A" ~figure A~ , Therefor I would subtract 2 from 70 as it says in box "E" (C-2) So 70-2= "68". I would now place "68" in my box "E".

Figure B

8.) Now we do the same thing fo fill in box "F". As you see box "F" has "D+2" . We now add "2" to the number we have in -figure A- Box "D". Example: I have the number "9" in box "D" I would add "2" to my 9. Nine + 2= 11. I would then place an "11" in box "F".

9.) You now do the same for all the boxes til you have them filled. If you have a two or three-digit number such as "24" or "105" you still place this number in the box. Also if you have a minus number still write that in your box. Example: Say that I have a "2" in box "A". As you see in ~figure B~ box "A" we have "A-2". We then subtract 2 from 2 (2-2= 0) . We would place a "0" in box "G". Also in box "N" we have "A-3". With a "2" in box "A" we would subtract 3 from 2 (3-2= -1) We now place "-1" in box "N"
