Pokemon Strategy Guide (Red and Blue versions)

1)Pallet Town- This is were you start off. Talk to everyone you see. Try to leave town and Professor Oak stops you, take you to his lab and offers you and your rival a pokemon. After choosing, your rival will challenge you. After the battle, go to Viridian City’s pokemart and get Oak’s parcel. Go back to pallet and give it to Pr. Oak. In return he will give you a pokedex. Then go to your rival’s house and get the Town map from your rival’s sister. Proceed to Viridian City.

2)Viridian City- Buy some pokeballs, and antidotes.(I suggest 7 pokeballs&2antidotes)Heal your pokemon. (I suggest to raise your pokemon to at least Lv.13). There is a gym here but it is locked. Come back later to fight in the gym. Proceed to Viridian forest.

3) Viridian Forest- A winding maze with lots of good pokemon. You can find a pokeball, potion, and antidote here. ( I suggest catching and raising a pikachu and a caterpie) Proceed to Pewter City.

4) Pewter City- The first city to have its own pokecenter, mart, Gym, and museum. You’ll have to fight Brock, the Pewter gym leader, to get the boulderbadge and a TM34. Having a grass or water pokemon to use can give u a big advantage. Buy some more pokeballs and Potions. (I suggest a lot of pokeballs since there are many pokemon to catch in the next few places, And there are very few pokemarts) Proceed to Mt. Moon.

5. MT. Moon- The fifth place to visit. Mt. Moon is a cave with a lot of new pokemon. Inside u can

either get a dome or helix Pokemon fossil. This is the 1^st place Team Rocket appears. You can find

a rare candy, escape rope, 2 potions, a moon stone a TM12, TM01, and a hp up. Proceed to

Cerulean city.

6. Cerulean City- u can get the cascadebadge after defeating the gym leader, Misty, here. U will have

an advantage if u use an electric or grass pokemon. U can visit Bill the pokemaniac here and get

info on eevee, jolteon, vaperon, and flareon. U can also get a S.S. Anne ticket if u help Bill out.

Then proceed to Vermilion City.

7. Vermilion city- Then u can get the thunderbadge here after defeating the gym leader Lt. Surge. U will have an advantage if u use rock or ground type Pokemon. U can get a Farfetch’d here in a trade for a spearow. U also must go through diglett’s cave to get HM05(flash) before proceeding.

7a) S.S.Anne- The S.S.Anne is here. U have to beat the S.S.Anne to get HM01 (cut). U will need it to go

to Vermilion Gym.

8) Rock tunnel- U will need HM05(flash) to beat this dungeon. Mostly all trainers use ground and water

Pokemon. Using water will give u an advantage.

8. Lavender Town- There is nothing u can do here right now. So heal your Pokemon and get some

revives at the PokeMart and head to Celdaon City.

 

After beating Celadon City( beating the gym leader and getting the sliph scope at the game corner)

come back here to the Pokemon Tower. Make your way to the top floor and rescue Mr. Fuji from

Team Rocket. As a reward u will get the PokeFlute that can awaken a sleeping Pokemon.

9. Celadon City- U can get the HM02(fly) here by going west of celadon to a secret house. The badge u can get here after beating gym leader Erika is the Rainbow Badge. Beat Team Rocket at the Game Corner to get the sliph scope.At the top of the PokeMart get buy a can of water.(go inside the game corner and talk to the guy next to the poster, then inspect the poster to open the doorway to downstairs.0
10. Saffron City- to get through the guards, give them the can of water. Beat Team rocket here first in sliph co. Go to the fifth floor and get the card key to open locked doors. Then go to the warp in the bottom left room to get to the 3^rd floor. Then go to the above room to get to a room with Gary(your rival) in it. Beat him then talk to the other guy to get a lapras. Go through the last warp to get on the 11^th floor to beat Giovanni and to receive the masterball.(I suggest u not use it. The masterball can capture any pokemon. I suggest to use on on mewtwo) After beating sliph co. go beat the Saffron City gym (gym leader is Sabrina-uses physic pokemon) to get the Marsh Badge. Then go back to

Celdadon city. Go all the way west where the snorlax is. Use the PokeFlute to awaken him. Beat or capture him(your choice since u get 1 more chance to capture him later on). Then follow cycling road to get to Fuschia city.
