Rei Rei
Yes ladies and gentlemen,
we are reviewing a Hentai, and a dubbed Hentai at that!
Rei Rei, by far hard to call this one
classic and worth while material. No, Rei Rei is, as most Hentai
should be, good, dirty, and simple fun. For plot line, well, I guess
when the main objective is to enhance the love making abilities of the
characters, then that would mean that there is very little plot line at
all. Most certainly not enough to earn any form of award. And
for acting, well, the way it was changed from the original subbed version
made it all that much better. Yes, I said it, the dub is ten times
better than the sub. If you have seen the entire Neon Genesis Evangelion
series dubbed in english, then definitely check this one out. Aside
from a few changes in the casting, it is pretty much the same cast, and
even better is the inside joke about Evangelion hidden carefully out in
the open in the second episode should have you rolling. No, I won't
tell you what the joke is, but it is most entertaining and among several
easily quotable lines littered throughout the series (i.e. "Jesus baby,
your booty got it going on!" and, "It's all right, I'm a doctor, I know
what I am doing."
Rei Rei has rather decent animation
considering that it is a) a hentai b) made in the late eighties early nineties
and c) has no big name animators (not even any big named hentai people).
The character designs are absolutely beautiful, and to quote Clerks, "They
draw some of the biggest titties in there." Never have I seen scenes
like that animated so well before, the detail on the events rather breath
taking, aside from laughter, and certainly something to aspire to.
And finally, as I had mentioned before, there is that question of plot
(I think the question is where is it). Certainly the plot does exist,
for Princess Kaguya and her man servant Pipi go around and patch up relationships
between couples in most interesting ways. Overall though, this was
nothing more than an impulse buy based off of what I had seen when the
original subtitled version had come out, and so I would suggest renting
this if you want to keep you collection clean. I would give this
a mixed rating, on overall comedy, 91/2,
but on actual watch ability, 31/2.
Otaku Forever,
Lee
