undefined Anime Music

Each year there are more than a billion album's sold in Japan, and over 70% or more of them are soundtracks.  Some Anime soundtracks get imported for sail through mail order or at conventions, but some are still very hard to find, and there's limited amounts of them.  This leaves many fans disappointed, because you can never get that one song you really love!  There are songs out there from shows such as Kimagure Orange Road that you will never find in the states, no matter how
hard you try.
The music featured in Anime covers almost every aspect of music, from classical, to rap, to rock, to techno.  This
variety makes the industry interesting.  Though most of the music is solely in Japanese, some is not, like the music to
Serial Experiments Lain, which is all in English.  There are some series that people would love soundtracks for in the
states, like Macross.  The original Macross series was powered by the voice of Lin Minmei, a woman who had never sung a note in her life!  Despite that, she has starred on, or been featured in more than a hundred albums, and every one of them has sold well.  Then there's Macross Plus, with its four soundtracks directly from the film, 2 Sharon Apple cd's, one cd simply of variations on voices, the theme song, and one live" cd!  The music form this movie held the plot, enhancing the moments perfectly!  And there's always Macross 7, the wonder flop in Japan, that owes any popularity it can obtain to the music featured in it!  It stars a rock and roll singer who sings to defeat his enemies.  This chapter in the macross dynasty alone amasses some 20 albums!  A friend of mine happens to of come across the soundtrack to Fushigi Yuugi a while ago, and I listened to it.  The music from this show was what originally attracted me to the series.  I would kill for an actual copy of that cd, but they are relatively hard to find.  There are now six soundtracks to FY out in Japan, and its only mildly hard
to find the first one, but almost impossible to find the others!
There's always the problem of Recognition.  Nuku nuku and Slayers both feature the voice of Megumi Hayashibara, who also does all the music for the shows also.  She is featured in over 30 series, and does the soundtracks to all of them, but in the states her name is rarely mentioned, except at the end of the credits in small letters.  I think that if we were to get some of the soundtracks out in the states, she would get the recognition she deserves.  And Yoko Kanno, who does all the music for Macross Plus and Gundam Wing.  When was the last time you heard that name?  But the music is some of the best in Anime!  In my opinion, Bubble Gum Crisis' only redeemable point was the music.  With songs like Say yes, and California, the music was very addictive, and very good, but the show was great!  I'd be willing to buy the soundtrack, though, and I know lots of people who agree with me!  Though some anime music is terrible, so is a lot of music.  I think that the decent stuff outnumbers the really bad stuff, and even if the most of the cd is bad, you'd by the cd just for that one or two songs you really love!  So far, to date the only company to release domesticated Anime Soundtracks in Pioneer, but they only release them after they rework the songs in English!   There should be more soundtracks released in the states, because there is a large demand for it.  As of right now, the only reliable way to get good anime music is online in Mp3 format, and sometimes not even like that!  To do it that way, though, you must be in front of your computer!  You cant be out running amuck, in your car or on you home cd player!
