Well...the WOC 2000 is over. After a VERY nice begin (first 7 rounds),

something happen with Romy. :( So, he is only #17. The 1999 champion,

David Shaman, is only #13. Brian Rose with 11,5pts from 12 possibles

is #2. And the winner for this year is: Murakami Takeshi.

The first WOC day has passed and the first 7 rounds was played.

And what can we see in the results...? The first implresion is that

David Shaman have big troubles. After the Champion title last year,

now, after 7 rounds he is only #14. :(

Other surprise, this time a good one, is #2 - Romy Hidayat with 6pts

from 7 possibles. Cool, huh?! I don't think somebody was thinking about

a so good result for Romy. I don't want to say he is a not good enough

player. I know he is good, because we had played many games together time

ago. hehehehe. CONGRATULATIONS, Romy!!!

An excelent new entry in the World Champ Othello Players is Matthias Berg:

36/28 against Tatsuya Mine in the first round and 34/30 in Donato

Barnaba-Matthias Berg game in round II.

Other transcript that i will be very interested to see is David Shaman -

Per Horn game in the V round, where Per won with 41 discs. Good Game Per!

The last words for the moment i want to say is that i am worry about Phil

Marson games. After VII rounds he is only on the 42th place. :(

Erik Lund Jensen won the Danish Othello Championship for the 3rd time 
in a
row.
The 18th Danish Championship was held Saturday September 9th 2000 in
Copenhagen. 12 players participated, including all 5 ex-Danish 
champions
(Erik Lund Jensen, Karsten Feldborg, Henrik Vallund, Torben Vallund, 
and
Claus Qvist Jessen). It was Claus' first tournament in 11 years!
7 rounds of swiss-style were played (2x20 minutes) followed by a 
one-game
final (2x25 minutes).
