the Church of St Patrick
My parish is the Church of St Patrick in Cumberland, Maryland which is in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. The Archdiocese of Baltimore is America's premiere see having been established in November 1789. The first Bishop of the American Church was Fr John Carroll consecrated on 15 August 1790. On 8 August 1808 Baltimore was raised to an Archdiocese.

One needn't have a history lesson to know that the Catholic Church is the Church of antiquity founded upon Peter and to this day united under Benedict XVI from the See of Rome. Prior to entering into full communion with the Church i was nurtured along toward the fullness of the Faith in the Anglican Communion, specifically in The Episcopal Church. Journeying as an Anglican i noted, especially when i discovered (now) Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman, that there is a catholic wing of Anglicanism and it is to that High Church that i belonged even as a 'worker' of sorts, volunteering my time in various ministries culminating in an official period of discernment for ordination. As noted elsewhere that was not to be yet through various signs i was lead to the Catholic Church and into the fullest expression of Faith.
