Eating For Two


They say that my mommy is eating for two,
but how can that be when she's got just one mouth?
I've looked east and west
and I've searched north and south,
but darn it, I just cannot figure it out.

Where is she hiding those extra lips?
Where has she stashed her spare stomach and tongue?
Maybe I should ask Oprah or call Connie Chung.
But all that they'll say is that I'm much too young

to worry about things that I don't understand.
But how can I not when all most grown-ups do
is try to keep answers a secret from you,
like how just one mom
can be eating for two.
