Pie In The Sky
I heard someone mention a pie in the sky
so I figured I'd eat it for fun.
"It must be delicious", I thought to myself,
"being baked in the sky by the sun."
So I got dad's old ladder out of the garage
and I grabbed me a fork and a plate.
Then I climbed to the sky, searching for that big pie -
man, my stomach and I couldn’t wait!
I looked all around, but no pie to be found
and the hunger inside me was itchin’.
Then a sparrow flew by, so I said “where’s the pie?”
And he answered, “Who know’s? Try your kitchen!”
“That does it!” I said, “There’s no pie in the sky”
I climbed sadly back to the ground.
Someone must have hoarded it all for themselves
before it could ever be found.
The big problem is, I’m still really hungry -
I Guess I should learn how to bake.
I just wonder if whoever stole the pie
is the same guy who takes the cake.
