Under The Weather

Lizzy the Lizzard
got caught in a blizzard
and she didn’t know what to do.

So she yelled at the sky
“Will you please tell me why
you make all of this snow like you do?”

Feeling under attack,
The sky answered back,
“It’s none of your business, Sweet Pea.”

That made Lizzy mad,
so she tried to act bad
shouting, “you don’t begin to scare me!”

Well that wasn’t true,
which the sky surely knew
so he upsized the snow flakes to hail.

Then he added some lightning
to make it more frightening
and Lizzy soon started to wail.

“That was truly unkind,
now I never will find
my way home - you’re a mean, viscous sky!”

“I was just having fun”
said the sky, “but I’m done.
Just whatever you do, please don’t cry.”

He then hung out the sun,
melting snow by the ton,
so that Lizzie could see her way clear.

“That was nice of you sky”,
Lizzie said, “Well good-bye,
You’ve dried up my very last tear.”

So Lizzie the Lizzard
survived the bad blizzard
but the sun turned her skin into leather.

Now she’s begging for snow,
which just goes to show,
that you don’t want to mess with the weather!
