"Batteries"

January 6, 1992

based on Metallica "Battery"

Overcome with passion, my body starts thrashing

when I push the button marked "Play"

Pulsing with madness, with a twinge of sadness

when the music goes away

Pain starts to pound me

Misery has found me

Cannot replace the batteries

Mind filled with aggression

with only one obsession:

have to replace the batteries

Cannot convince my family

batteries are what I need

Batteries

Batteries

Silence fills the air, a sensation so rare

Never-ending misery

I feel so weaker, nothing out the speakers

I am on the edge of lunacy

Pain starts to pound me

Misery has found me

Cannot replace the batteries

Mind filled with aggression

with only one obsession:

have to replace the batteries

Cannot convince my family

batteries are what I need

Batteries

Batteries

Going silently insane, enduring the pain

for two AA cells of energy

At the 7-11, I am once again in heaven

as I steal some batteries

Music started to pound me

before the cops got me

but I replaced the batteries

I face a six-month jail session

to teach me my lesson

for stealing three dollars of batteries

Cannot convince the judge

and the store owner won't budge
