I first experimented with the concept of mixing sound clips from various songs together in the summer of 1992.
Shortly thereafter, I made the clips complement each other.
Yes, it was damaging to my compact disk system.
But it is fun. A sample follows:
"What's your purpose, in life?" (Anthrax, "Out of Sight, Out of Mind", State of Euphoria)
"I am looking for money, got to have it." (Pet Shop Boys, "What Have I Done To Deserve This?")
(sequence of increasing sums of money) (Information Society, "Hard Currency", Hack)
"Money's all that you desire" (Anthrax, "Antisocial", State of Euphoria)
"Money for nothing" (Dire Straits)
"Don't you ever think of money?" (Information Society, "Hard Currency", Hack)
"Big money goes around the world" (RUSH, Power Windows)
"but are you experienced?" (Jimi Hendrix, "Experienced", Are You Experienced?)
"I am a trained professional (Warrant, "Cherry Pie", Cherry Pie)
"I'm out of work" (Gary U.S. Bonds)
"I go looking for a job, but I get no offers" (Simon and Garfunkel, "The Boxer", Bridge Over Troubled Water)
"I'd like to work at nothing all day" (Bachman Turner Overdrive, "Takin' Care of Business")
"How'd you get this job you own?" (Anthrax, "Out of Sight, Out of Mind", State of Euphoria)
"It's not who you are, it's who you know" (Metallica, "Holier Than Thou", Metallica (self-titled))
"I work from nine to five....I pay the price" (Rockwell, "Somebody's Watching Me")
"Got no time for living, yeah, I'm working all the time" (RUSH, "Working Man", RUSH (self-titled))
"When you've got a job to do, you've got to do it well" (Guns N' Roses version of "Live and Let Die", Use Your Illusion II)
"Working in a factory, eight days a week" (Sly Fox, "Let's Go All The Way")
