Having a meal with Mickey Mouse and his friends is one of the most memorable parts of a trip to Walt Disney World. There are several spots in all the parks and some of the resorts to have Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner with the characters. One of the most fun, and therefore most popular, is Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort. The restuarant is brightly colored with loud Disney music playing, and Mickey, Donald, and Goofy running around making more noise and having fun. The food is first rate, and you can take the monorail there which makes it even more exciting!
If you decide to visit Chef Mickey's, make Priority Seating as soon as possible. (You can do it from home.)Seating at Chef Mickey's fills up quick for both breakfast and dinner, and a walk-in visit could be a long wait. I waited to long to make PS and as a result was only able to secure a 7:20 am seating.
Without asking, our resort set up an early private bus to take us from Pop Century to the Contemporary at 6:45 in the morning. It was really cool leaving our resort in the near-dark, riding a private bus, and arriving at the Contemporary with the sun rising!
Breakfast with Mickey was awesome as usual. This was Elias' first encounter with the characters and he warmed up to them quickly. He giggled and laughed with Pluto, flirted with Minnie, and was awestruck in the presence of Mickey!
The Baby Changing Center is a little tucked away charm of Walt Disney World. Obviously not an attraction, but the center decorated in the turn-of-the-century theme as the rest of Main Street. Inside, there was plenty of spaceous changing tables, high chairs for feeding, a nursing station, and even a little play room with Disney toys and cartoons! It was really neat. (see picture on next page) They also had a water cooler, which I snuck about 7 cups of water when the attendant wasn't looking!
We decided to ease Elias into the whole ride experience with The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. This is a great ride, and Elias took it all in with wide eyes and a tiny little smile. He wasn't too familiar with the Pooh characters, as Daddy had been shoving Mickey down his throat since the day he was born, but he enjoyed the experience none the less.
Next we visited the Magic Kingdom's newest attraction, Mickey's Philharmagic - a wonderful 3-D movie with in-house special effects and lots of great Disney music. Elias was a bit restless and wanted to play with my 3-D glasses the whole time, so I didn't really get to enjoy the show to it's full potential.
