DETAILS:
The wear rings are supplied usually available in split form. (The split is obliquefor Reciprocating / Oscillating application & straight for rotary). Ifrequired running length’s are also readily available. The BA wear ring is themost widely used general purpose wear ring.
The material used is PTFE with a Bronze content of 40%, for further improvement inperformance a Bronze content of 60% can be made available on request.
The BA wear ring can be cut to length to suit your specific requirements. Length notonly has to be calculated depending on the Rod/Cylinder bore diameter also considering thermal expansion in the wear ring in operation.
CALCULATION OF LENGTH :
The center line diameter multiplied by p (3.14) gives us the circumference length of wear ring. But allowance for thermal expansion is to be provided. Therefore we reduce the p i.e. 3.14 to 3.13 but to a minimum gap of 1.5 mm for smalldiameters.
