Interview of the Month for September

Justin Interview from Teenmag.com

We know how much 'N Sync drives you crazy, so we caught up with Justin Timberlake to get the lowdown on the group's upcoming Pay-Per-View show, ¡N SYNC ¡N CONCERT, airing Sept. 11. You'll be able to catch Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone Jr., Chris Kirkpatrick and JC Chasez strut their stuff in a 75-minute concert from the comfy confines of your own couch. Plus, check out the pre-show featuring in-depth interviews and an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at their recent tour. Read on to hear what Justin had to say! P.S. ¡N Sync's new album hits stores in November.

TEEN: Why did you guys decide to do a Pay-Per-View show?

JUSTIN: Well, there's only so many people you can get into one arena, and Pay-Per-View is a great opportunity for us to reach a lot of different people.

TEEN: We heard you're premiering the *You Drive Me Crazy* video during the concert?

JUSTIN: Yeah, we're still editing it. We wanna bring the video experience to Pay-Per-View because it's the same thing that our fans experience at our shows.

TEEN: Can you give us a sneak peek at the video?

JUSTIN: Basically, we're a new group trying to get a manager and we dress up as different people that we think he might like--The Jackson Five, a group of rappers, the Spice Girls. . .it's a funny approach to a kind of serious song. And that's something we like to do--we don't like to take everything so seriously.

TEEN: How about the new album? What can we expect?

JUSTIN: It's going to be a little more energy, a little more mature, but still we're gonna keep the harmonies because that's really our sound. We have some collaborations in the works...I don't want to say who yet. You have to wait!

TEEN: Are you guys doing any writing for this one?

JUSTIN: Yeah. JC wrote a song called "Love is Just a Game", and I wrote a song called "Good for You." Hopefully, it's gonna end up on the album! We're still recording.

TEEN: How's this album gonna be different from the first?

JUSTIN: The first album kind of reached every different kind of pop you could, and I think this is gonna be even more diverse--a little edgier into the R&B and dance. It's going to be interesting to see how it's all gonna come out, because we're really going for it with this one. And I know we have the best fans in the world, so I think they'll appreciate it.

TEEN: What are you most excited about?

JUSTIN: I'm most excited about our growth. There's a lot of groups out there right now, and I kinda feel like we're just coming into our own. We're doing our thing, being ¡N Sync for ¡N Sync. And the fact that our fans love it is that much more encouraging.

TEEN: How's the tour going?

JUSTIN: Great!

TEEN: Have you had a chance to hang out with any of the other groups on your tour? (Sugar Hill Gang, Jordan Knight)

JUSTIN: I shot hoops with Jordan the other day. He was on his way to the stage. He's very nice. When I was 10 or 11, I went to see New Kids on the Block in concert. I thought the whole *sha-bang* of the show was incredible. So it's just cool to have him on tour with us.

TEEN: How's everybody getting along?

JUSTIN: We don't have drama on our tour. We don't have people that are mad at other people because they're on stage too long. We make sure that everybody has what they need to feel comfortable, because that's what it's about. It's fun.

TEEN: If you had time to go see any other concerts touring right now, who would it be?

JUSTIN: If I could watch from a distance--I don't think I'd want to be in the crowd--I'd want to go see Limp Bizkit. And Lauryn Hill, and our friend Britney (Spears). We're big supporters of her.

TEEN: How do you kill time on the tour bus?

JUSTIN: Our bus driver just gave us a DVD player, so I watched Patch Adams . I'd never seen it. I actually cried! I'm a sap when it comes to movies.

So you couldn't get tickets that sold-out 'N Sync concert? Quit bummin' and check out www.nsyncinconcert.com for info on ordering the group's upcoming Pay-Per-View show. --Marisa Laudadio
