Keanu's Filmography!!!

Zara Maria's Keanuland!!!

This is a list of all of Keanu's movies. This filmography has been compiled from three different sources, so please tell me if there are any additions or revisions. I have not seen all of these movies, so I am in no way responsible if they're not appropriate or if they just plain suck (which of course they won't, since it's Keanu, after all).

The films are sorted chronologically.

1984 -- Wolfboy

1985 -- Dream to Believe -- A musical. A modern-day Cinderella-type story of a gymnast named D'Abo. Keanu plays Prince Charming, of course.

1986 -- Under the Influence

1986 -- Acts of Vengeance -- A made for TV drama. When a man challanges the president of the United Mine Workers, he and his family are killed. Based on a real event.

1986 -- "Babes in Toyland", on TV -- A musical. Keanu plays Alex/Jack Be Nimble. Also includes Drew Barrymore.

1986 -- Flying -- Keanu is Tommy in this film.

1986 -- Brotherhood of Justice -- This time Keanu is Derek.

1987 -- River's Edge -- A drama. The tale of suburban teens so disengaged they don't react when a friend shows them the body of the girlfriend he murdered. Keanu plays Matt. Also with Dennis Hopper. Rated R.

1988 -- The Prince of Pennsylvaina -- A look at the generation gap between a rebellious youth (Keanu) and his father. Blockbuster praises Keanu's "charismatic performance." He plays Rupert Murshetta.

1988 -- Permanent Record -- A popular boy shocks the school when he commits suicide. It devastates his best friend, who always lived in the shadow of his classmate's "ideal life". Rated PG-13. Keanu plays Chris Townsend, the best friend.

1988 -- The Night Before -- A comedy. A high school nerd gets a prom date and a lot of trouble when the school's most popular girl loses a bet. Keanu is Winston Connely, the nerd. After I watched this with my aunt, she kept complaining that there was no plot. I told her she fell asleep just before it showed up. Well, I liked it. (Big surprise.) Rated PG-13.

1988 -- Dangerous Liaisons -- A drama set in the 18th century. Two aristocrats amuse themselves by "trapping innocents in their web of sexual deceit and betrayal." (Blockbuster Video's Guide to Movies) Also filmed in '89 as Valmont. Keanu is Chevalier Dancey. Rated R.

1989 -- Parenthood -- Another comedy. This film shows the humor of dealing with a multi-generational family. Keanu is the racecar-driving boyfriend, Tod. Also with Steve Martin. Directed by Ron Howard. Rated PG.

1989 -- Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure -- A comedy. Two teenage dudes travel in time to study for a history exam. Great when you're looking for something light and goofy. Keanu is Ted "Theodore" Logan.

1990 -- Tune In Tomorrow -- A comedy. A radio soap opera writer becomes attracted to aunt (his?) while dealing with his boss's general kookiness. Keanu is the soap opera writer, Martin Loader. Rated PG-13.

1990 -- I Love You to Death -- A black comedy based on a true story. Bumbling killers are hired to murder a cheating husband. Rated R. Keanu portrays Marlon.

1991 -- My Own Private Idaho -- A drama/black comedy. This is about the friendship between two male prostitutes in Portland, Oregon. One is a drifter, the other, the mayor's son. Rated R. Keanu is Scott Favor. I haven't seen this one yet but I am DYING to. I mean, Keanu AND River Phoenix in the same movie? Come on.

1991 -- Point Break -- An action film. A gang of surfers (led by Patrick Swayze!) robs banks for fun. A green FBI agent infiltrates the group and finds some adventure. Rated R. Keanu plays Johnny Utah, the FBI agent. AND he does his own stunts. Definatley a rockin' movie.

1991 -- Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey -- The sequal to their "Excellent Adventure". Called an "entertainingly idiotic comedy", in this movie, Bill and Ted journey to hell and make friends with Death. Filled with evil look-alike robots and Keanu, Keanu, Keanu. Again, he plays Ted "Theodore" Logan. Rated PG.

1992 -- Bram Stoker's Dracula -- A horror film. The classic vampire tale laced with breathtaking visual effects. Rated R. Keanu is Jonathon in this film.

1993 -- Much Ado About Nothing -- A British comedy. An adaptation of Shakespere's tale about two young lovers. Rated PG-13. Keanu doesn't have a large role, but it's pretty good, especially if you like Shakespeare. Keanu plays Don John.

1993 -- Freaked -- Keanu portrays Oritz, the Dogboy. (uncredited?)

1993 -- Even Cowgirls Get the Blues -- Keanu is Julian in this movie.

1994 -- Little Buddha -- A drama. Tibetan monks believe they have the reincarnation of Buddha Gautama. Dispensing his wisdom, Keanu plays Siddhartha in this film.

1994 -- Speed -- A bus on the L.A. freeway is rigged with explosives and can't go slower than 50mph. Rated R. Did you ever notice how people always try to ruin your favorite films for you? All through Speed, my uncle kept telling me the 2525 bus doesn't go to downtown L.A. In my opinion, this is the best movie ever made. Keanu is SWAT team officer Jack Traven.

1995 -- A Walk in the Clouds -- Following World War II, a young G.I. leaves his cheating wife and goes north to work as a traveling salesman. To help out the daughter of a wealthy vineyard owner, he poses as her husband. Rated PG-13. I give it two thumbs up. It's a very nice romance. Keanu plays Paul Sutton.

1995 -- Johnny Mnemonic -- A sci-fi thriller. Keanu stars as Johnny Mnemonic.

1996 -- Feeling Minnesota -- An action/romance. Rated R. This film was...interesting. I liked the story and the action, but it definately deserved its rating. Keanu portrays Jax (Jjaks?) Clayton.

1996 -- Chain Reaction -- Another action film. Working title:"Drop Dead". Keanu is Eddie Kasalivich.

1997 -- The Last Time I Comitted Suicide -- As I recall, Keanu delivered a fine perfomance but the movie wasn't overall that great.

1997 -- The Devil's Advocate -- Keanu plays trial lawyer Kevin Lomax who has to chose between his morals or the good things in life. I haven't seen the whole thing but I did see the part with Keanu's naked butt. (Or was it a body double's?) Rated R.

In progress: Matrix -- Keanu is currently down under in Australia filming this movie.

As you can see, I don't know much or anything at all about some of these movies. If you have a review, synopsis, correction, or comment you'd like to share, please e-mail me. The address can be found at the bottom of the page.
