These Assateague ponies were grazing near the sand dunes at the beach on the Maryland side. They're really not so "wild" as to run away from you and most of them are very tolerant of people, although I don't recommend petting them. Some horses are more tempermental than others, especially the stallions, and their bites and kicks can result in severe injuries. So do as I do, enjoy them from a distance.
