Lies
You can
tell me
you hate
the way I dress,
"Friday night is off",
you can't
go to
my recital,
you're under
too much stress.
You can say
"Your makeup's too much",
"You talk too loud",
"Your room is too cluttered",
"Let's not
keep in touch". But don't
give me
your fake alibies,
or say things
you don't mean.
They hurt more than the truth,
so please,
don't tell me lies.
You can
call me
names,
throw
tantrems and fits,
say, "You sing like a frog",
and make outstanding claims.
You can
laugh at my dreams,
flirt with
my friends,
smirk at my poetry,
tell me everything
is much
worse than
it seems.
But don't
give me
your fake
alibies,
or say things
you don't
mean.
They hurt
more than the truth,
oh please,
don't tell me
lies.
