Mouse Trap Vehicles

Objective: You are to use a mouse trap to be the only source of power to make a vehicle move the longest distance.

SCORING

A - travel over 10 feet
B - 8-10 feet
C - 6-8 feet
D - 4-6 feet
E - less than 4 feet

Rules!

This is a team project - 2or3 members to a team.
Each team will need 1 mouse trap - your team may wish to purchase more to experiment with other ways to solve the problem.
You may add to or take off pieces of the mouse trap, except you may not change the spring in any way.
All vehicle parts must come from the team. You can use things that you have around the house, such as old toys.
You will be given time in class to work on this project, however I hope you will do work at home as well.
Each team will work by themselves in class so that they may keep their ideas a secret until the competition.
It is expected that each team member participate in some fashion on the project.
You may not have the bale of the mouse trap push against a wall or any other object to make the vehicle move.
Your project may be as big or as small as you like.
The school record is 100Feet 11 1/2 Inches. Can you beat it??
