Hebrews  9:11-26. Chiastic structure copied from Chiastic Analysis of the Epistle to the Hebrews,  arranged by John Bligh (Athenaeum Press, Heythrop College, Oxon, England: 1966). Bligh's work is almost entirely in Greek. For website purposes, I have used unaccented Greek from the Unbound Bible, Nestle-Aland 26, at unbound.biola.edu
I have added English from the New American Standard Bible, revised.

A 11 cristoV de paragenomenoV arciereuV twn genomenwn agaqwn
But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things to come,

dia thV meizonoV kai teleioteraV skhnhV
He entered through the greater and more perfect tabernacle,

ou ceiropoihtou tout estin ou tauthV thV ktisewV
not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation;

12 oude di aimatoV tragwn kai moscwn
and not through the blood of goats and calves,

dia de tou idiou aimatoV   but through His own blood,

B eishlqen efapax eiV ta agia He entered the holy place once for all,

aiwnian lutrwsin euramenoV   having obtained eternal redemption.

C 13 ei gar to aima tragwn kai taurwn   For if the blood of goats and bulls

kai spodoV damalewV rantizousa touV kekoinwmenouV
and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled

agiazei proV thn thV sarkoV kaqarothta  sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh,

14 posw mallon to aima tou cristou    how much more will the blood of Christ,

D oV dia pneumatoV aiwniou    who through the eternal Spirit
E eauton proshnegken amwmon tw qew
offered Himself without blemish to God,
F kaqariei thn suneidhsin hmwn apo nekrwn ergwn
cleanse your conscience from dead works

eiV to latreuein qew zwnti   to serve the living God?

G 15 kai dia touto diaqhkhV kainhV mesithV
For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant,

estin opwV qanatou genomenou eiV apolutrwsin
so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption

twn epi th prwth diaqhkh parabasewn
of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant,

thn epaggelian labwsin oi keklhmenoi
those who have been called may receive the promise

thV aiwniou klhronomiaV   of the eternal inheritance.

16 opou gar diaqhkh    For where a covenant is,

qanaton anagkh feresqai tou diaqemenou
there must of necessity be the death of the one who made it.

17 diaqhkh gar epi nekroiV bebaia
For a covenant is valid only when men are dead,

epei mhpote iscuei ote zh o diaqemenoV
for it is never in force while the one who made it lives.

18 oqen  Therefore

oude h prwth cwriV aimatoV egkekainistai
even the first covenant was not inaugurated without blood.

H 19 lalhqeishV gar pashV entolhV
For when every commandment had been spoken

kata ton nomon upo mwusewV panti tw law
by Moses to all the people according to the Law,

I labwn to aima twn moscwn [kai twn tragwn]
he took the blood of the calves and the goats,

meta udatoV   with water

kai eriou kokkinou kai usswpou
and scarlet wool and hyssop,

H* auto te to biblion kai panta ton laon
and ...both the book itself and all the people,
G* erantisen 20 legwn    ...sprinkled... saying,

touto to aima thV diaqhkhV hV eneteilato proV umaV o qeoV
"This is the blood of the covenant which God commanded you."

21 kai thn skhnhn de kai panta ta skeuh thV leitourgiaV
And ...both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry

tw aimati omoiwV erantisen
with the blood... in the same way he sprinkled

22 kai scedon en aimati panta kaqarizetai
And ..., one may almost say, all things are cleansed with blood,

kata ton nomon   according to the Law

kai cwriV aimatekcusiaV ou ginetai afesiV
and without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.

9:23 anagkh oun ta men upodeigmata
Therefore it was necessary for the copies

twn en toiV ouranoiV toutoiV kaqarizesqai
of the things in the heavens to be cleansed with these,

F* auta de ta epourania kreittosin qusiaiV para tautaV
but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
E* 24 ou gar eiV ceiropoihta eishlqen agia cristoV
For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands,

antitupa twn alhqinwn all eiV auton ton ouranon
a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself,

nun emfanisqhnai tw proswpw tou qeou uper hmwn
now to appear in the presence of God for us;

D* 25 oud ina pollakiV prosferh eauton
nor was it that He would offer Himself often,
C* wsper o arciereuV eisercetai eiV ta agia kat eniauton en aimati allotriw
as the high priest enters the holy place year by year with blood not his own.

26 epei edei auton pollakiV paqein
Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often

apo katabolhV kosmou   since the foundation of the world;

B* nuni de apax epi sunteleia twn aiwnwn
but now once at the consummation of the ages
A* eiV aqethsin [thV] amartiaV dia thV qusiaV autou pefanerwtai
He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
Verses 26b-28 are also in the next chiasm.
